TN Noms

Portal - letters may not go out until Friday.

Every time there has been a portal change DD rec'd an e-mail. There was no e-mail notification this time (which is odd because it was the most desired notification DD wanted to get). She has an LOA to USNA, so that was her only remaining condition. She rec'd a USAFA nomination in District 8 Wednesday

Is 2 the district that had interviews yesterday ? I guess that beats waiting 2-3 months between interview to nomination notification

Yes, DS interviewed yesterday and received notification in portal today!
 
I received my nomination from my Congressman (TN-01) at the end of Nov., which finally appeared on my portal on Jan 11, and got my appt. on January 20 (LOA). I recently received a letter from Senator Corker saying that I didn't receive a nomination from his office, but haven't heard from Alexander yet. Just want to say good luck to all of the TN parents and candidates still waiting on good news and GO NAVY!
 
Congrats candidate2020! I think you will be the first actual appt from TN. Make sure you add it to the thread if you haven't already.

DS has never received an email with a portal change in two years. Very interesting.
 
I have a nomination for USAFA from my congressman. 32 ACT 4.0 99.15 grade point average, varsity football, baseball,co-caption in both sports. honor courses, 12 hours college credit, physical --good, many school clubs,ROTC 2 years, good work record and volunteer record. what is my chance of getting in the academy?
 
Ok, so if my son only has a congressional nomination, and appointments have been made for TN by that congressman, does that mean the end of the road for him?
over 30 in each ACT area state medalist for wrestling 3.89 GPA, CAP etc.
He seems to be in the qualifying range. What happens if that senator's spots are filled? Is he out?

Please clarify...did your DS receive a nom from his district congressman or a state senator? I believe your son will go into the National Pool.

It is possible that the appointees had a different nom than the senator (i.e. (J)ROTC, Presidential, VP, etc.). If he was appointed under the senator/congressman's slate, he will be sent to the NWL (National Waiting List) where he will be looked at again. I think I say a statistic that said only 50% of the appointees come from the slate, 40% come from NWL, and 10% come from military-affiliated/Presidential. By law, a certain amount of NWLers have to be admitted into the Academies. I do not remember the exact amount required by law.
 
from district Congressman. The state said they could not nominate because he had already been nominated. He is non immediate military family so this is the only nomination he was applicable for.
