I am a candidate for the USAFA and I have already had my dodmerb exam, however, I am wondering if they are concerned with your teeth? I need two implants on my bottom as I did not have adult teeth under my baby teeth. I have spacers holding the space until I have the implants. Can this medically disqualify me? Should I get the implants ASAP before next year?

If your Dodmrb didn't dq because of it, then you should be fine. However, I am not the authority on this matter. No one on the forum is. You should check with your admissions counselor for advice.

Now, assuming it isn't an issue that would disqualify you, I will give you one bit of advice. Do not get any type of medical procedure done prior to completing basic cadet training. For any number of reasons, a surgury itself can disqualify you. This include lasik surgery or anything else. The only surgery I would even consider, and only if it's currently a problem and you can do it with at least 3-4 months to recoup, is wisdom teeth. But nothing else.

You are fine. I had the same issue with my top canines. AF wanted to take them out and give me implants as well. Got a second civilian opinion and AF approved just removing and closing the gaps because of mouth crowding. I now have no upper canines.
