Hello all,

If I were to take one of the admissions tours of the academy, when is the best time? There are some days on the admissions sites when they are not offered, but are there days that are more.... interesting (not that I am just looking for the "interesting" days, but if I am going to take a tour I want to see as much as possible). Any input from current cadets would also be much appreciated on good times to schedule one.

Brian

Well...do you want to watch a noon meal formation or a parade? Those are Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.

Yeah I would come on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
Try to find a 4 degree to host, since he/she will give you the best idea of what the first year is like.
I'd escort you around if you wanted. Let me know when you plan to come, and I can request to escort you.

Thanks for the input. I will probably plan to come on a Friday sometime in October. Mon/Wed are hard for me to make because of classes. Is the class schedule different on Fridays? I really don't know that much about the actual schedule of the tour so I will probably need to talk to my admissions counselor. Thanks packer for offering to escort, that would be great.

Brian

If it is the same as last year, you'll get to the Academy around 7:30 with your parents or whoever, go through a quick briefing with some recent grads, talk to your admissions counselor. After that, they'll bring you to the library to go with you cadet escort. If your parents come with you, they'll get a separate tour. You're with the cadet until around 4ish. Basically you go to classes, lunch, etc. If you go with me, I'll show you around campus since I have 3rd, 4th, and 5th periods off.
After 4ish... you'll meet back up with your parents and leave pretty much.
