Hello, i've been recently working on my online candidate portal, and it says that I have to send in my high school activity sheet as well as my high school transcripts. The only problem is that right now it's summer and my counselor isn't working at school now, so I can't ask her to send my transcripts... I sent her an email through the link provided on the portal, but how am I supposed to do this exactly? how did any one else do this? thanks a lot!

Personally, I contacted all my school officials before school got out and got their personal emails so they could complete the forms. Doing that, I was able to complete my file before R-Day for 2015! In your case, I would call up any school officials you can and try to find a way to contact them. The last thing that came in for me was my transcripts, they took like 2 weeks to get to USMA (but they were coming from all the way across the country in San Diego!).

    Best o' luck! :thumb:

Okay, sounds like a plan! but what if school office people don't give me the counselor's personal emails? because i've tried asking for it before but they said they don't give out their personal contact information. Would it be ok, for me to wait till the start of my senior year which would be in early septemer/late august? But i see that it's best to have my online portal done asap. :/

Well, the sooner the better. But I believe you can submit it until, what, February of next year?

Of course you don't want to do that, afterall, it's rolling admissions!

I contacted my counselor before school ended and we agreed that we would get my transcript out by mid-August at the latest. I also spoke to my AP teachers to submit my AP grade bumps into my transcript by August as well.
So far, I cannot contact them nor reach them since school is out. In your guys' opinion, is mid-August to early September considered a "good" time to send/ complete my application? That is my goal right now as my school completes class rank/ transcripts/ etc pretty late (they complete it for regular students in October!)

    Nam,

I'd definitely contact your RC/AO and ask that. I think I told you by PM my AO said September is still considered early, but I would definitely talk to him and ask him what he thinks... Asking can't hurt you I believe.

I just talked to one of my school officials, and she said that even if i were to contact my counselor, she would still not be able to send in the transcripts herself because our school uses docufide.com to send all transcripts to all schools.. Does West point accept this method of sending transcripts? because on my online portal it says that the counselor has to seal herself the transcipt and send it in herself, but my school does not do it like that. Has anyone else used docufide to send transcripts? and if so, how did you do it? Thanks very much

I know for a fact that my counseling office sent the transcripts in over the internet and my portal has all 6 semesters received, so I would assume that you're good to go.

Independent of the school's use of electronic transcripts, you should be able to request paper copies of sealed transcripts. Usually for a nominal fee. (ours were $2). Usually there is some lead time, and for use it was no harder to for them to release five than just one.

It will be a paper copy of the transcript, stamped in some form (ours were embossed), and sealed in a school envelope with a signature on the flap seal.

You are very likely to need copies of these for the nomination process and as backups. We ended up using about 4-5 sealed paper copies of transcripts between the nom process, backup schools, and honors/scholarship applications.

For any situation where they do not use electronic transcripts (nom applications, for example) you can remove one variable by sending the sealed transcript yourself rather than depending on the school to do so.

But get some even for backup purposes.... you don't want to miss deadlines due to lost or late transcripts. One of our MOC offices lost DS's transcript, and we were able to address it that day.

In our area you can request sealed paper copies either from the school or the county. So even if your school has a policy, the county/city may still be able to provide it.

I didn't use docufide, I used all paper transcripts. Usually that works and if you want to possibly reduce/eliminate the fee try handing them the gray envelopes you got, those might work too!

Right now I would recommend faxing your transcripts to your RCO's office because it will take 2 weeks for most out of state transcripts to get to West Point plus the time it takes to process them. Just speculation but if you mail your transcript now your file might not be complete by August first

Forgot to delete that quote, I was going to say something about it but decided not to.
