My son found out today that he was awarded a scholarship to University of Rhode Island. We are very excited, however he plans on attending Assumption College and participating in ROTC at WPI.

Could anyone answer the following:

1. Is it possible to transfer the scholarship?

2. Does anyone know how we would go about transferring this scholarship to WPI?

3. What are the chances this could happen?

Thank you so much

1. It is possible, although alot of schools have full allocations.
2.TALK TO THE CADRE AT WPI
3. Each situation is different, so your chances will vary.

I can tell you from personal experience, you can't even request a transfer until you have the letter in hand. Cadet command will then consider that you received a scholarship.

To request a transfer two things are important,

1) You must have been admitted to the school that you wish to transfer the scholarship to
2) There must be an open allocation at the school you wish to transfer the scholarship to

If both of these things are fulfilled you can then request a transfer.

Get in touch with the PMS at the school your son wants and inquire about allocations left. Let them know that this is your son's #1 choice.

Get in touch with your contact at Cadet Command. Let them know that you would like to transfer the scholarship and they will let you know what can be done and how to do it.
