I am trying to obtain a replacement copy of my DD Form 214, and the National Archives claims that they have no record of me. I attended USAFA from 1988 to 1990, and received an honorable discharge. I have my discharge orders, transcripts, and other documentation that shows I attended, but I'm missing the DD214.

Does anyone know where service records for cadets are kept, if not at the National Archives? I tried the Total Force Service Center, but they only have records since 2004.

Thanks in advance for whatever help is provided.

No Records

I can't help you obtain a copy of your DD 214: BUT -- I can commiserate. I served as a Lt., USAF, on active duty 1953-l954. I requested my records as well some years later. I was advised that due to a fire in St. Louis, MO., they had no record of me whatsoever. Although I yet have my separation card (worn out) and my DD 214, but unbelievably, there is no official record that I'm aware of that I ever served on active duty. I feel like Mr. Cellophane.

Did you contact USAFA, the office of admissions? They should have a record or it might be with the registrar...but someone will have a record.

That would be the first place I would go.

Haha, no certainly didn't want to hear that. I'll have my Yeoman's number on speed dial!
