Tunes for a summer day

Always been a Parrot Head but anything by Jimmy on a long reach under a full moon.:thumb:

From "The Big Chill" Kevin Kline: "There is no music after Motown"

AF excellent! As the "son of a son of a sailor" I've always appreciated Buffett. My daughter is especially partial to "Cheeseburger in Paradise"- (I've eaten too many of them it strikes too close to home!) - my favorite would be: "Come Monday". BTW- great line from The Big Chill:
"I don’t know anyone who could get through the day without two or three juicy rationalizations. They’re more important than sex.”

Sorry Flieger- I'm with Pima. Dry heat over DC humidity anyday. When you never dry off from your shower - it's just bad. What makes NoVa perfect is that humidity combined with sitting on 395 in rush hour moving south at 5mph- Not going back there Period!!

Kids used to take turns wearing their "Cheeseburger in Paradise" hat.

Oh come on Bruno-Sure you do not want to join me for a cookout on I-66..
nope- never moving back there!

I just thought of one-- this should bring back memories of high school prom and your girl friend's head on your shoulder! after reading his posts- it's obvious that there is not a chance that TPG didn't have this one down cold!!

"I have been thinking of my time at Q-town over the years" Do you think the SI's sit around the squad bay humming "Sounds of Silence" with the Candidates?

I don't think I ever heard Simon and Garfunkel done quite that way. It's not the same as the track on the album.

I too am taking a long weekend. Leaving for Q'town by way of the Evening Parade at the Barracks tonight, Family day at Brown Field tomorrow and PLC-Seniors Graduation on Saturday. I'm a very proud Dad living in the greatest country and honored to know some of the men and women that will be taking over the watch from all of us former: grunts, squids, mud mashers, airdales, puddle pirates....

Everyone, Have a Great Independence Day

Run down to the coast for a free concert July 11 !
I have a friend who was at Lulu's when Buffett performed this impromptu concert Wednesday.

We have a beach front condo on the Florida panhandle and several years ago he stayed in our condo. He gave an impromptu concert for the beachgoers much to their delight. I heard that 'Margaritaville' was definitely the theme inside our condo that night !
He left an autographed copy of one of his books for us! :thumb:

you all brought a smile today!
thanks for posting the links - I havent graduated to that level of computer yet!
bruno loved your links - after my son returned from his summer cruise, his treat was to go down to his uncles river house - northern neck of VA with his girlfriend for this week - I ran down yesterday and my brother asked the girlfriend if she liked "classical music" - his ipod is loaded with this era of music! the look on my son's face putting together the "classical" was delightful! This kind of music was big at our HS in 70's as "oldie's" - but continues to age well!
thanks again for the all the links
