    What a wacky world we live in. Personally the only reason I think Turkey is an ally is that we wouldn't want them allied to Russia.

    Germany is who should be embarrassed for having a law against insulting foreign leaders actually on the books. Germany? The light of western Europe? The economic powerhouse of Europe? One of the leaders of the free world? The country who should know more painfully than anyone what happens when free speech is thrown in jail? How far away are we from the Nazis anyway? There are many times I so appreciate being an American citizen.

    Exactly, Germany has emboldened Turkey. Merkel gets pushed around by Erdogan.

    We (the U.S.) wrote the law, before we gave them their country back.
    Just like MacArthur wrote Japan's constitution.
