Two Nominations

Hi All,

Does it help at all if a candidate recieves both a congressional and a senatorial nomination?

Thanks!

Yes, for two reasons.

First, it shows that you were considered highly competitive by 2 MOCs. (In fairness, for some sparsely populated states, this may not be as important b/c sometimes there are very few qualified candidates so it's not as uncommon for someone to get multiple noms). But, generally it's a good thing.

Second, it gives USNA more flexibility in slotting you for an appointment as you can be assigned either to the Rep or the Sen (or another source).

Thank you for the information! Still just waiting to hear from the Academy.

You may well have to wait until Feb. or March. First, the MOCs have to submit their slates to USNA. They have until Jan. 31 to do it -- some do it early, some don't. Then USNA has to match triple Q'ed candidates to nom slates. It can go quickly for some . . . for others the wait can be much longer.

Good luck!
