Also, looks like Cornyn has the nomination application for 2011 up.

It is my understanding that Rodriquez is going to be there too. Don't know about KBH.

Has anyone ever attended one of these? If so, what would be the appropriate attire? Would jeans and a nice shirt be acceptable or should one wear slacks?

Son and I attended one in the Texas Panhandle in 2008. Son wore blue blazer, yellow shirt and tie, khaki pants. Every other kid in the room was in shorts and t-shirt. I couldn't believe it. Maybe 25 young men. No girls. After the formal part of the presentation, while everyone was mingling around, three different people: one staffer of our MOC, a general who sits on the MOC's selection committee, and another person whom I also think was on selection committee, approached son and told him he looked nice and was obviously serious about wanting to attend an SA.

By the way, son is plebe at USNA now. Got MOC and Senator noms.

So, dress is obviously widely varied. What kind of an impression do you want to make?

I agree with jennyp! You don't have to go out and rent a tux , but I would encourage you to wear khaki pants and a polo type shirt at the minimum. The event we attended in Dallas a couple of years ago was on a Sunday afternoon also, so a lot of kids were wearing "church clothes", although some did show up wearing sweats. It's definitely a chance to make a good impression, so why waste it?

Went to academy day in GA about half a year ago. Just wore a white button down and kahkis. Some kids were wearing their JROTC uniforms; a little over the top IMO.
