Does anyone know how rejections may come? I know they come in small envelopes but will the congressman call or will it show up on the portal as "rejected" or something along those lines? Thanks

You will most likely receive a message in your portal saying that you were not accepted. At least that's how it was for me last year.
 
Most of it appears online. There is a link on the portal to a letter. I know of some who had rejections on the portal recently for failing the CFA. No, I don't know their numbers.
 
I saw someone post on the Facebook status "Are all the selections sent out on the same day?" -- and I doubt this is the case, but I do really wonder how constant their output is.

Like, if we aren't notified today, does USAFA's review board meet each Tuesday? What other times....?

If my memory has not failed me, the AFA board meets every Monday when the AFA is in session. The results are compiled with the RDs on Tuesdays. Appointment letters on Wednesday/Thursday.

This will occur weekly until the close date.

The thing to understand is how appointments are charged, for example, the appointee with an LOA may not necessarily be charged to their MOC. Meanwhile candidate number 10 on that slate waits to the last day to submit their CFA. You see on the appointment thread candidate LOA district t 11, your district, but did not know they had an LOA, so you assume great :redface: I am now going into the pool, when in reality that slate might not have been charged yet, and the reason for not hearing is candidate10 has yet to be boarded.

The same can be said for the candidate that has 3 or more noms.

It is called mass mailing march for a reason. Also, in march they don't send out all of them in one day, it is over a course of several days. I think if I recall it is not days, but about two weeks of letters going out in bulk.

Hope that helps. Just remember that this is if my memory has been accurate, and if things have not changed in the last couple of years.
 
DS and I attended an USAFA nominee brunch a couple of weeks ago. The official numbers at that moment were that 322 appointments had been accepted. He assured us that the numbers were right but they were also AT THE MOMENT numbers. So looks like March will definitely be mass mailing March again!

That would be right from years prior. I recall asking once and someone said about only 300 received appointments, but than again this yr they did ED.
 
the source was "that web guy" who takes 250,000 photos annually of the cadets. He got his info from admissions.
 
Have all the 'vacancy winners' received appointments yet or do some come out with bulk of appointees mid march too?
