I just opened my portal and found a new tab that says upload documents which includes birth certificate, parental consent, medical records, etc. Does this mean I got in?

Those ARE documents that you get once you've been offered.
Look on your portal - does it say "offered appointment' under the 'Nominations received' box?
Do you have a LOA?
Did you receive a nom?

I'm going to stay cautious right now because it is early to be receiving an appointment.
My DS got some of the Admissible mailings before his waivers were approved.

I have 3 nominations, PRES, IL19, and RSCOM. It doesn't have any offer of admission listed yet though. It can only mean good things to come, but I just wanted to know if it was an actual appointment or just a request for additional info because I'm a soldier or something.

I really don't know if they automatically send those to soldiers. But they are on the list of things sent to admitted candidates.
You might consider contacting the Soldier's admissions officer at West Point.
Good luck! :thumb:

I contacted my FFR and he couldn't give me a straight answer, he just said my BFE is probably in the mail!

My DS's portal had the 'Upload Docs' link appear today too. He received a congressional nomination, but there is no indication of appointment under the nomination block. He is not a soldier. I am taking it as a good sign since I have noticed that from past posts on this forum that these appears to be the type of documents West Point calls for from appointed candidates. Fingers-crossed:smile:

Well - let us know!
What a great early Christmas present that would be! :thumb::thumb:

Keep watching your portal in the meantime. Today is Tuesday and the admissions committee votes on Tuesdays.

Does he have an LOA?
Recruited athlete?
Is he a under-represented minority?

It's good to hear that candidates other than military have gotten this "offer", We'll have to just wait and see he it plays out. Good Luck!

No LOA
Not a recruited athlete
Not a minority

Didn't know that about Tuesdays. Thanks for the insight!!

Same thing for my DS. It appeared today. He is not a recruited athlete, but did get an LOE. Hopeful this is good news to come!?

If 3Q'd then it is possible that y'all are P- noms.

As a point of clarification just recieved form an RC, it appears that the "Upload Documents" is new functionality that has been added so that Candidates can scan and upload their documents into the portal rather than sending via snail mail.

In addition, the "Upload Documents" may simply be available for those that are Fully Qualified (3 Q'd: Academic, Medical and CFA). It does NOT appear to be connected to any offer of appointment at this time. As stated previously, offers for apppointment will not be made until the end of February.

Perhaps not the information everyone was hoping for at this time, but hope it clarifies what this new feature means in the portal.

But why would they need those documents if the application has already been reviewed and qualified by the admissions board? We must have some upperhand in the process even though it seems early.

I wouldn't leap to that conclusion. As a software engineer with 38 years experience I would think:
1. it might just be a coding error and it's perhaps showing up for everyone when it really shouldn't, or
2. it was just easier and less costly to implement it by having it show up for everyone.
Don't set yourself up to be disappointed. Bureaucracies mess up all the time.

Roger that. Everyone have patience. Just turn in the documents and see what happens.

DS had the upload document tab added today as well! He had an email from his RC stating that the Admissions Committee would meet today and that he should be hearing from WP soon...

He has an LOA, SUPE Nomination and is a recruited athlete.

Hi everyone,

I apologize in advance if I rain on any parades.
I recently saw a post by the West Point Admissions page:

"For Candidates currently applying for the Class of 2017 -
NEW Candidate Forms Upload Feature!
A new feature has been added to the Candidate Portal!
This new feature allows candidates to upload documents to their application file. The following documents are currently available for direct upload into the candidate portal (pdf files preferred):
• Advanced Placement (AP) Scores (if applicable)
• BodyFat Worksheet (if applicable)
• Employer’s Evaluation (optional)
• Legal Paperwork (if applicable)
• Proof of Citizenship (if NOT a U.S. Citizen by birth)
• Letters of Recommendations (other than School Official Evaluations (SOEs))

ONLY candidates who have been Offered or Accepted an appointment to USMA/USMAPS should upload the additional files:
• Social Security Card
• Birth Certificate
• Parent Consent (if NOT 18 years of age by RDay)
Please note that this upload feature does NOT determine or influence a candidate’s file status, it simply allows candidates to better manage their application file.
Please direct any questions concerning a candidate’s file status to the regional admissions officer."
