I thought that since everyone is getting tired stalking the mailboxes every day, I would post an update on UPT.

Son should solo in the T-6 next week. He has been very busy and flying every day. Yesterday he had a double-turn with two flights in a day and said that he was physically and mentally exhausted. His second flight was a last-minute addition when one of his flight mates wasn't ready for his flight and they pulled my son to take the slot. The days are 12 hours every day, and if you aren't flying or in the sim, you are expected to be in the flight room studying. He said it is more work than anything he has ever done, including all the time at USAFA.

He has been working on spins and spin recovery, which he said takes a lot out of you physically. Here is a youtube link that he sent me to show what they do.

We are heading down to Texas for Easter to spend a couple of days with him and see the base. I'm really looking forward to it.

Good luck to all of those awaiting appointments!

Thanks Stealth! This is cool stuff, my DS is doing flight this summer with Gliders. Lots of excitement building up for that opportunity.

Just wait until he gets to advanced aero, then form!

Yeah, the days are long, and it is a lot of work. The schedule kind of sucks sometimes, but the flying is sure fun!

    WOWOW! Great update Stealth!

My DS is leaving tomorrow for skiing with his bro in the mountains and has talked a lot about IFS and flight in general.

Might end up in UPT with one of your fish (my son)! Of course, then you will be Dr. Hornetguy :thumb:

Indeed. Figured out I'll be entering as Pima's DS is graduating UPT!

Not only will I likely end up with some of my 2013 doolies as classmates, I will probably have some of my classmates or even 2011ers as IPs!!! Hope I was nice to all of them! :shake:

I'm also ready to be the old man in the class. That'll be a first!

Yes, you will be that old man, and you know what that means? Class leader :shake::shake::shake:

Stinks to be you! That is the job nobody wants! Can we all say BABYSITTER?

OBTW, DS's date has been backed up...shocker, I know right? NOT! So actually you will probably overlap now!

    Say the prayer with me:

Please don't back up my sons. Please don't back up my sons. Please don't back up my sons.
