Anyone know how the US Navy sea cadet works, when you can join, and how you join? Is this basically like JROTC for the navy? Thanks

It appears to be run a little differently but it might depend on the unit you are in. JROTC seems to be associated with schools. Sea Cadets may or may not be tied to a school. See here: http://www.seacadets.org/public/

I'm a LT in the program and can help shed a little light here. Sea Cadets is sponsored by the U.S. Navy League and encompasses two different programs: The Navy League Cadet corps for children 11-14, and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets for 13-17 years. Most questions, etc are answered on the main website, but feel free to send me a PM if you have other questions.

Former U.S. Navy Sea Cadet and current Army ROTC cadet (MS1) here. If you want to know more about the Sea Cadet Corps or ROTC, send me a PM!
