US passport

    I am in process of renew my son us passport before Iday. However, it will take some time.

    1. Can he get a military/goverment passport at usna after plete summer?
    2. I think it is free for military personel. Am i correct ?

    Chances of him getting a military/govt official passport is slim unless he's traveling on official orders and if so he'll be instructed to get such a passport.

    No, regular tourist passports are not free to military personnel.

    you can send him his passport once it arrives, i don't really think there would be a need to put a rush on it unless you think he needs to travel outside the US shortly after plebe summer.

    Passports have been moving pretty quickly as well.

    Consider getting the passport card while you're at it. Don't have mine yet...but I want it.

    What is the purpose to have a passport card ?

    passport card as i understand it is for travel to and from us/canada/mexico and behamas i believe. cannot be used on flights but by boat/car. you can read more about passport cards on the link i provided above as well.
