USAFA Academic Calendar

What about th summer training schedule?

Thanks for the academic year schedule. Does anyone know the schedule for summer training (for new cadets)?

Also, I didn't know that there are parent weekend dates for groups from different states? Is there a parent weekend for all parents of any freshman/Doolies?

When can parents visit for an important event? What about home football games?

Thanks again!

Here is the link for the summer of 2012: http://www.usafa.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-111208-036.pdf

There is only one Parents's Weekend for the entire Academy. It is Labor Day weekend.

You can visit the Academy anytime but you won't see your doolie except from a far after I day until BCT is over........ football games you can go to anytime, as far as important events go it depends on the event....

previous years have always been on a wednesday, going by the summer calendar shouldn't it be august 8?
why does AOG webguy say it's on august 7?

From multiple sources it is August 7 2012.

Does the Prep school calendar for 12-13 mirror the AFA? Grad dates the same?

Thank you
the P school 12-13 calendar is not yet published. Graduation dates for this year are not the same though, so I would guess they won't be next year either.

Thank you! I couldn't find it online and thought I was losing my touch!
Thank you so much for all of your helpful, encouraging posts over the last 6 weeks.

parent weekend

Can anyone tell me how to get to the PW schedule, please? Do we need any dress or formal clothes for a banquet or anything??
Thanks so much!

Go to the Air Force Academy website (just plug Air Force Academy into your browser). Look at the column on the far right side of the page and click on Parents' Weekend. The schedule, etc. will come up. As for clothes -- it is predicted to be hot in Colorado the rest of the week -- it was 93+ in Denver today. Bring comfortable clothes -- unless your family is going out somewhere really fancy -- Colorado Springs -- like most of Colorado -- is casual. Wear jeans, tennis shoes, sandals, comfortable shorts, comfortable shirts, a hat and plenty of sunscreen -- women do not need to be in a dress or heels. Clothes on siblings, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc. can be teenage "normal" so long as it is not too revealing (low cut, see through, too short, etc. is probably not appropriate -- but it's unlikely anyone will say anything anyway). Remember that if you are the parent of a C4C they must be in uniform the entire weekend -- except in their hotel room, on a hike, at a hotel pool, etc. -- they may wear their PT gear under certain circumstances) which they will know) but in general they will need to be in uniform -- there will be upperclassmen at the hotels, in Colorado Springs, at the local tourist spots -- cadets recognize one another (by the haircuts, if nothing else) -- so you C4C will want to follow the uniform rules.
