So, I've been waiting as patiently as possible for word from the Academy. I've seen several appointment stories already. Of people receiving their BFE and of portal updates. I was just wondering what will happen to the other people in a nominating category who did not receive the appointment. I've received a nomination from a Congressman who does not rank his nominations and wonder if the 1 person out of the 10 nominations he gave out has been chosen. If they have, will the Congressman take the time to let the other 9 non-appointed candidates know their chances to receive an appointment under his nomination are over? How will I or anyone else know if their nomination category has appointed someone else?

Thanks, and congratulations to all of those who have received an appointment already! Here's to high hopes of that BFE coming soon!

Hang in there Hopeful...I am pulling for you! There is still a long way to go and I would reckon that a minimal amount of appointment offers have been sent. I know it is tough to see others getting the offers but there is a plan for you...it will all work out the way it is supposed to!

Speaking with the academy rep of one of our nominating MOCs a couple of weeks ago, he said something along the lines of "I wish we could announce it right away, but you understand that we have to wait until we're able to" I'm not really sure what he meant but I get the feeling that they have some internal/USAFA information release date/OK they have to honor even if they know that an applicant is going to get the nod.

As many of the posters have noted here, it's still quite a while till late March and if anything, the USAF likes to do things in a organized and orderly fashion. Hang in there! :shake:

Not all MOCs call the appointees. I seriously doubt that your MOC will call the 9 non-appointees. My DS's first notice was the BFE followed by a portal change the next day. He never heard from the MOC.

Hang in there. The waiting is the hardest part. Good luck. :thumb:

So true. And there's the other combinations too. When my son found out about his appointment, his application online changed first to say: "Appointment offered". We hadn't heard from anyone. "Granted, changed to this on like November 1st, so MOC interviews hadn't even happened". But the ALO didn't even know anything. About a week later, in the mail, was the BFE.

This has happened for some in March too. Some see a change in the online application first, then the letter. Some get the letter first, then the online. Some get a call from the MOC/Nominator first, then the Letter, then the online. You just never know.
