Hello and happy holidays, I was wondering if the Air Force Academy does Candidate Visit Weekends and how the process works for them. I went to one for the Naval Academy last year and that was by invitation. I was just wondering if there is a way to have a similar experience at USAFA, because I have received and principal nomination and have never been there, and I don't want to make any decisions before I experience the environment. Thank you for your time.

They used to have a week for appointees, but have since gotten rid of it. What they do now is just set up visits. You will get to go to class and lunch with a cadet and they basically show you around. To plan a visit to the Academy, call 1-800-443-3864 in advance and they should set up a briefing and then hook you up with a cadet for a tour/visiting some classes. If you have any specific requests (like you want to be with a physics major, or someone on the flying team etc...they will try and find someone willing, but know that sometimes that is a bit difficult).

Alright thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for!
