If you are chosen to attend the USFA Falcon Visitation Experience does it mean you will more than likely receive an appointment?

No, it means you are likely to visit.

(Though there are several reasons, all in your favor, which may mean they are likely to look favorably on your application)

Thank you for the reply. My son received a nomination for the Air Force Academy from our MOC but it was not a principal nomination. That said, we were hoping this helped improve his chances of attending the academy.

When do you find out if you are chosen for a falcon visit?

My DS just received an email regarding this last week. He submitted information and is waiting for them to confirm with him. I think the visitation dates are from Feb 4 - 7.

Great sounds like if chosen our boys will be there together. My son said that he thought that there would be 90 kids coming for the event? Is this the same message that you got? Will you be joining him? We are undecided. We went with your DD last year, but it was a different kind of visit.

Yes, that is the same letter my son received. Unfortunately, we will not be attending it with him. I think it is a good thing to allow him to experience it on his own.

Yes, I think we will send him out on his own it will be a good experience for him. On a side note, my DS just sent me a text saying that he received an email confirming his visit along with more forms that need to be filled out. So I guess that answers the question about when we will find out....

Did your LOA nominate you and did you know they did this before hand to attend?

MD2020, didn't your DS receive an appointment already? Just curious why USAFA would offer FVE for someone they already appointed. Is he on the fence about accepting?

Hi FalconsRock. Yes he received an appointment last week. I am not sure how or why they choose which students to offer this visit to. He has been appointed to USNA and USCGA too so maybe that is the reason? Or maybe the offers go out to students that have already been appointed and they want the kids to make sure that USAFA is where they want to be? Or maybe it is just a random selection based on when the student completed their application? Who knows.... I am just grateful that he was offered the opportunity. He super excited about the visit and the possible opportunity of seeing his sister.

I was just curious. The offers are not just for appointees as my DD was offered FVE prior to her appointment. She was very excited about it, filled out all the paperwork and then was disappointed to find out it was only for first time visitors. She attended SS, so she was not eligible. Congratulations again. I hope your DS enjoys his visit and perhaps we will meet on I-day. Aim high!
