The tradition at my son's school is to wear shirt or sweatshirt of the school you will be attending in the fall. I was looking online to see if there was such things available for prep school should that materialize. I couldn't find prep school gear, only the academy. Is there not such things online for prep students? Already ordered shirt from plan B school and wanting to know where to find prep stuff. Thanks for any help!!

If you are referring to the AF prep school, they provide the attire, you bring a very limited amount of things from home. The only civilian clothes are the clothes on your back when you arrive, and then when they gain privileges they can wear civilian clothing.

I was actually referring to tshirts like they sell at the gift store at the visitor center, but instead of saying Air Force Academy it denotes Prep school. Online I can only find ones that say Air Force Academy.

One more thing, please, where do you find this "webguy". I heard mention of this, but didn't know what they were talking about. Thanks again!

If you google search webguy, you should find the page. It is part of the association of graduates. They takes pictures throughout the year for families and have an online store. There are parts to the page that are free (probably the online store) but to view pictures or anything you need to be a member.

Webguy does the pictures. I don't think they sell clothes. You may want to go to the usafa association of graduates website to buy swag or the official usafa store.

Thanks! I think I will have to call because online there is nothing for prep school in the way of clothing other than a 2016 prep shirt with the names of the preppers on it. I did find the webguy site and it did link over to the AOG site for purchase of items.

You might want to post this on the USAFA section too. I'm sure there are current and former preppies there that could help you. Good luck and congratulations.

Excellent idea! He didn't get a prep school offer yet, but is still hanging on as a candidate! I am thinking/hoping that will come through soon. I am just getting all my ducks in a row so hopefully he will have something to wear to school to show where he will be attending in the Fall. :) It's hard when all his classmates have their college shirts on and he is in no man's land right now. I know, I know it's a good thing to be still in it. If nothing else, perhaps there will be others who would like to get their DS or DD something as well.

Might be time to break out your inner Martha Stewart, mix in some logo piracy, download the logo, go to a local silk screen-t-shirt maker, throw yourself on their mercy and see if you can get a USAFA Prep made up.

Oh, and don't think that didn't cross my mind. Isn't it a shame though that there is nothing readily available? After all, I believe a prep spot is quite an accomplishment for any candidate. Why would there not be anything available? Is it not appropriate to wear a prep school shirt? I just don't get it.

Why not just buy a regular USAFA shirt? That's the end point of the prep school anyway. Before my cadet even looked at the academy, a family friend told all of us that her daughter was going to Navy, had the t shirts and other swag to boot. Later did we find out that she actually went to USNA Prep school. She's an ensign now. Prep school is indeed an accomplishment and the golden ticket to next year's class.

I agree, if he earns a prep spot just get a USAFA sweatshirt.

I think he would probably feel awkward wearing a USAFA shirt considering his classmate did get an appointment to the academy and accepted. Thinking somehow that wouldn't seem right.

I do recall seeing parents with prep shirts on without the class list name. I saw them for sale parents weekend, but I'm sure they are available elsewhere. I'll ask my DS.

The Prep School definitely has merchandise. Our son is currently at the Prep School. I didn't see anything online other than a USAFA Prep pin, and the Class Of 2016 shirt. You could call the gift shop. I bet they have stuff in stock. I agree with you regarding not wearing the USAFA shirt. I think it's a right earned. (In my humble opinion). I won't even purchase anything that says "USAFA Mom" until he is on "the hill".

I did call the gift shop at the Visitor Center by the Academy. They didn't have anything there. The girl put me on hold to check and came back and said they didn't have any shirts or anything like that. She referred me to the PX. Is there another gift shop I could check? I looked online at the AOG site and didn't see anything on there for prep either. Do you all know about this PX and do you think they'd have something? I told my DS the trouble I was having finding something in case he got a prep spot so he understands. Also he didn't think he should have something that says USAFA on it either.

You might try calling or emailing the prep school directly. At in-processing last July they had a ton of stuff.
