Usafa visit -- things to do

My wife and I will be tagging along with DS on his visit to USAFA this fall. We will fly in Wednesday night, with the academy visit on Friday and the USAFA-USNA football game on Saturday. This will leave all day Thursday free.

Any suggestions on what to do and best places to eat would be appreciated.

There's so many things to do and places to eat, so I'll just give my favorites. Definitely go to Garden of the Gods, it would be the one thing that I would say not to miss. It should only take a few hours, so you can do other things, too. My favorite place to eat in COS is the Elephant Bar on North Academy Blvd. We eat there at least once on each trip out to the Academy.

Suggestion

Our two cents: If you can budget it, dinner at the Summit at the Broadmoor Hotel is nice....or just a cocktail in one of the outdoor bars near the lake on the Broadmoor property. It's a bit steep (but your DS is at the Academy so "you can afford it"----something my family keeps telling me!) Enjoy your visit.
