USAFAPS Appointment for 2014!

That's pretty close to what I had.

ACT English: 27
ACT Math: 27
ACT Reading: 28
ACT SR: 26

Honestly, I love it here. Some people hate it, but those people are missing out. I have made great friends and we find ways to make the best of everything.

Here's just a glimpse of the fun stuff that's happened in the past week...
My friends and I tossed around a baseball today which ended up turning into a snow wrestling match.
We replaced the men's and women's bathroom signs in the squad to confuse people.
I started writing a song for the Prep School talent show.
One of the squads here made a Harlem Shake video. (http://youtu.be/WTPcJCeg3CA link for reference)
Some people went snowboarding this weekend. (My friends and I are going skiing next weekend to celebrate the end of finals for this quarter.)

It isn't always fun, but don't cause trouble and live for the weekend and you'll be fine.

Haha I cannot wait!!! I saw the video it was hilarious... Are you currently appointed?

What should I expect with an 18 day basic training? Any advice?

Some quick advice. There will be about 50 prior service Cadet Candidates coming from all parts of the Air Force. They might seem like entiteled a**holes at first, telling you what to do and when to do it.

Keep in mind that these C/Cs "priors" are in a completely new learning environment as well and they'll be just as stressed out. One of the hardest things to overcome was the difference between the direct entry and prior service. Do you best to come together as a team.

Hey do you take the SAT and ACT at the prep school? My guess is yes and do you take it on the normal international testing days as a class? Thanks!

I have not taken either since I've been here, nor is it required.

There sure is. You'll get ample time to study it during basic.

Thank you LFry94, it's a big help to have some insight. USAFAPS is not as nearly as publicized or information made available for as the academy. Good luck on your appointment! Any news yet?

Certainly. Let me know if you have any more questions. None of us have heard anything yet.

What is the rule with iPads? I understand they give us computers, but I've gotten use to taking notes with my iPad, is that allowed?

Here at the Prep School, none of the teachers allow any sort of tablet in class at all. Whether you can use your computer to take notes depends on the class and the teacher. (In most math classes you won't even be allowed to have your computer out.)

You will be allowed to have iPads and tablets in your room once the Prep School commander and squadron staff permit them, but that's it.

Personally, I used to take notes on my tablet as well, but since being here I've grown to like paper and pencil and actually prefer it now.
