USCGA 2020 appointments

west coast dad....I was under the impression that the Acceptances will go out before 12/24 and then the rejections go out on 12/24. Hmmm....maybe Objee or NavyHoops can clarify....
We received a rejection several days ago.

Congratulations on the Scholars offer! While it might not seem it right now, CGAS is a great opportunity that many students don't get. I'm going to respond to your questions in the Prep forum, and I'll give a little more information there.

My older son went through the Scholars program.....great opportunity....was the best thing for him!

I will second or third the comments on CGAS. I will also answer questions over on the prep page. It's not easy, but has a lot of advantages to those that pass through. Please don't hesitate to ask. My 2/C son went through CGAS, and was CGAS cadre. Orientation is generally agreed to be tougher than Swab Summer, by the way.

Maybe we can submit a request to dorm?

Jesus guys, congratulations on the appointment and making the decision to attend. But you're in for a surprise if you think there is a remote chance of this happening. You should understand that as a plebe or swab at an academy you basically have no rights. Better to realize this now than later.

Agreed, MMA19kid. These options do come later from what I was told by my friends with academy kids (2 at USCGA - 2/C and Class of 2015). With my son not driving until 1/C or maybe graduation, he may need a refresher driving course. Since he was appointed, and I will not pay for college, he asked for a vintage car. My wife and I agreed to this but not until he walks across the stage. Then, and only then, will I hand him the keys...he said he's looking forward to this challenge. Until then, I'm looking for a '70 Chevelle...for some reason, his dream car.

MMA19kid, thanks for keeping it real. Congratulations to the Class of 2020.

Are the numbers out yet for the amount of EAs received, direct appointments, USCGS , and both wait lists?

I think I read on here that 2019 class had 171 EA appointments. 215 would be a pretty big jump in one year.

I'm waiting on RA, any idea when the first round of those appointments might start rolling in?

So what are the actual numbers for the amount of EA appointments for the Class of 2020...and how many remain for the Regular Admissions??
