USCGA Class of 2014 Appointments

Full Appointment

Got the full appointment to CGA in the mail about 2 weeks ago... still going back and forth between King's Point and Coast Guard Academy (leaning a little bit towards CGA.) Any words of advice or persuasion?
 
My advice: Visit both Kyle. I made a weekendish (maybe end of a week) trip to NY and CT. I slept over at USMMA one night and CGA the next night. That was the week that solidified CGA as my #1 choice. It had been my top choice before, but that's what turned me completely to CGA.

Either way, they are both fine schools. You have a good choice to make, good luck.

My daughter attended AIM 2008, In Feb she received a Prep Appt to USMMA and USCGA.. so in March we visited USMMA.... It was a tough decision, She loved the USMMA but I think she felt the CGA in her heart... That was her decision to make.......

You can add another one to your list. My son got his full appointment in the mail today. What a nice after Christmas present! It took a little longer than most, since he is living in Micronesia.
 
Well, I was given an appointment a couple weeks ago, but I officially turned it down for USMA this week, so hopefully it will go to one of my highly deserving SAF friends. Good luck guys, and congratulations to everyone who has recently received an appointment!
 
Just curious , but of the 11 excepted how many attended AIM?

PS He did not attend AIM, but did do the 'Cadet for a Day'! and that sealed his 2-year ambition to be a part of something really important. He dropped scholarship offers for this chance and he could not be happier. Best wishes for those still waiting.

Congratulations:smile: Did he apply for just Regular Admissions or did he apply EA?

So I'm guessing that he was conditionally accepted through EA, and he just qualified with DoDMERB since this is so early, right?

He submitted updated info and the DODMerb was updated as well.

We have begun reevaluating and offering appointments (three so far) to EA deferrals, so he could be either an EA deferral or EA conditional appointee.
 
Did attend AIM, week 1. Full appointment during EA.
