USMA Appointments

I hope I can find that letter. I think it was from the AFA. No way I could go. I was still playing football and didn't have the money anyway. I assumed they sent that letter to all candidates with a nom. I'm trying to save money now for a plane ticket In July on the slight chance I get an appointment-ha!

Lucky for you you are reimbursed for the plane ticket in July!

I hate to be "that guy", but would you mind telling us your best standardized test scores? I would appreciate it as would others I assume.

399 Appointments accepted as of 2/11/14.

Half Way There

399 accepted and throw in up to 200 USMAPS and the class is about half full. Unless some of the 399 are USMAPS guys, but I have not seen many/any on here that I remember. Any of U USMAPS guys around? Or are you to busy? lol

My son is at USMAPS right now and we were told that while a spot "down the hill" at USMA is theirs to lose, they will not be told for sure for quite some time yet. I just texted him (They have a quasi snow day since the teachers couldn't get in today) and asked him that question...I'll repost when he responds.

USMAPS

When I was at USMAPS, we had to go before the Commandant, Dean, and our Company Tactical Officer for their recommendation. I got it from the Comm and Dean. My TAC and I had a contentious relationship (all my fault). I had a little to much fun at Prep School. I didn't find out until almost May.

My DS hasn't gotten back to me, but it seems to me that Commandant Ruth said that it would be April or even May (graduation) before the prepsters were going to get a solid GO or NOGO.

But, generally, about 200 USMAPS cadet candidates get appointments per year, correct? The "NOGO" rate is relatively small, right? 10-15%?

USMAPS

Basically, if you "pass" prep school academics, don't get in to much trouble, and are 3Q still - you are in. I even had classmates who got certificates of attendance from prep school, not graduation certificates, and they got in to WP (they were athletes).

Make it an even 400 + 200 USMAPS as my DS will be accepting his appointment to USMA -- just hasn't yet because he is waiting to hear from USNA.
