I am a sophomore in high school. I have good enough grades, leadership positions, community service, etc. to be considered a competitive applicant when the time comes for me to apply to USMA. I lettered in lacrosse my freshman year and we won the state championship. However, I feel that football is my best sport and I think that I am very capable of playing at the Division I level. I start linebacker as a sophomore for one of the best teams in Kentucky.

I know that most football recruits for USMA have to go through prep school for one year before attending the academy. I think that I am already competitive for USMA and football is certainly not my only way in. However, will USMA recruiting me for football increase my chances of being accepted?(without having to go to prep school)

Recruits do not HAVE to go through the prep school if they're otherwise qualified.
