I'm a junior and sent in my application for West Point's SLE yesterday. The application just opened on Wednesday and I was wondering when I would probably hear back from the Admissions Office? My stats aren't very impressive, but I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Anyways would I still receive a message from them relatively soon even if I wasn't offered a spot?

You should hear from West Point soon. Last year I completed my application and within less than a week heard that I had not been accepted. So even if you don't get accepted West Point will still notify you.

And don't give up hope if you aren't admitted to SLE. Best of luck to you!

Last year DS applied as soon as portal opened. He ultimately was not accepted but did not hear from West Point until April via mail. He also applied to the Naval Academy and was accepted there. He had a blast and was able to pass the CFA while there. Scores were admissable to his West Point application. His first choice has always been USMA even though he attended USNA's summer session and CVW.
I believe his SAT score in reading was hurting his application. He was able to bring up his scores in the Nov. SAT (7th time) and received an LOE in December. So NOT attending SLE did not hurt him.
If you are curious about the other SAs then apply to them. Take the SAT/ACT multiple times plus apply to attend Boys/Girls State which is held during the summer between Jr and Sr year.

I agree. If you don't get accepted into SLE it's not the end of the world. My DSs RC had stated the selection process for SLE is more competitive than getting into WP. I too, encourage you to work hard on your grades and take the ACT/SAT standardized tests several times also take courses to understand the technique. Many of my DSs friends he met at SLE were leaving to directly attend boys/girls state programs. Take a look at the programs offered in your state.
