Hello all, hope the summer has been nice.
I applied to KP and was on hold forever (so long that it was almost a relief to be rejected) and I want to reapply because that is what I want. I just started as a Sophomore at an accredited 4 year engineering school (I'm a transfer because I have a bazillion community college credits).
This semester I am taking: Calc II (retaking it, I barely passed last semester), Engineering Design I, Urban Art (required core class), Engineering Design (AutoCAD/drafting), and an engineering design project to redesign the steam drier for a model nuclear power plant, and add failure scenarios to the operation of the plant. (I had an internship at the school when it was built and was the designer of the operation system of the plant.).
My next semester classes are going to be Multivariable calc, calc based physics, and some other things according to the course outline.
That is 15 credits...
My SAT scores were 640M, 580W, and 670CR.
Ever since I was rejected I can't stop thinking what can I do better. Also, I don't give up, and giving up on a dream isn't something I could fathom.
My Dad, is a KP grad, and he supports me reapplying.
Since I'm gonna go for it a second time I figure I know the drill a whole lot better now...
One issue I have is that I didn't do very well this spring in Calc II and physics II... I'm not going to make excuses (it's ultimately my fault) but there were circumstances way beyond my control that really messed up the semester... And honestly, given what happened I'm surprised I did as well as I did.
Any suggestions on how to word that... I mean what happened basically caused me to live on my own for a year...
Finally, I don't really play a sport... which I know can be seen as an issue of teamwork etc... any suggestions on what I can do to up my bonafides?
Thanks all!
