USNA 2013

I got my appointment today in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks like i'll be a midshipman if i dont get air force:shake::shake:

However, the next sentence says: "You are guaranteed an offer of appointment if your remaining admissions requirements are completed."

LOA's are supposed to be a really good sign, but I have heard horror stories about kids who got LOA's but still got rejected...(sorry for all the negativity)
On the whole, I'm rather disinclined to believe them (if only because I got an LOA haha).

Just a thought; I'm still waiting on a letter from USNA.

hey texan101 i have the same situtation waiting for AF but Navy all the way for now

Appointments vs. DODMERB

Congrats to all of you who received your appointments. We are still waiting
My son is waiting on a medical waiver from USNA. Am I correct to assume that no appointment will given if his status on DODMERB hasn't changed? Thanks.

It is my understanding that a waiver for USNA will not be granted at this point if they are not considering you for an appointment. That's the way it was at this point last year. Last year, my son had a waiver for NROTC; but not for USNA.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

My son received USNA Appointment today Feb 13th!

My son received his official USNA Appointment packet today on Friday, February 13th for Class 2013!!!! :thumb:

Do you mean if you are a candidate or have an LOA?
If you submitted an app, I'm pretty sure they'll look at you for a waiver no matter what, and then barring that they'll reject you.
I don't know whether they consider you for an appontment first or a waiver; I thought you had to be medically cleared first.

My son was a USNA candidate. He did not have an LOA. He got his waiver for his NROTC scholarship, but not for USNA because he was not told he was not going to be offered an appointment to USNA last year.

He was disappointed then. But--he is VERY happy in NROTC and, although he re-applied for USNA this year, he withdrew the application because he found the NROTC to be a great fit for him!

Just received a call from my congressman on Tuesday informing me of my appointment. USNA C/O 2013!!!!!!

From Wisconsin

Do USNA appointments "trickle" or is there a mass mailing.....

they trickle

yeah they trickle in and i know it sucks, btw I'm responding the the original question for this post, got my letter 2 mondays ago and I'm from san Diego California

they definitely trickle.
I got my acceptance last week, still trying to figure out what police jusrisdictions I fall under for the letter haha.
I'm a Maryland kid, so not much of a commute either.

This may have been asked already, but is there any rhyme or reason to which state/ MOC/ last name is brought before the board at USNA first? Basically, in what order does Admissions review applications? I would imagine not many people know, but I am just curious. Still anxiously waiting... thanks...

I just received my appointment in the mail last Wednesday. I'm one of the few from wonderful windy Wyoming. :shake:
