USNA has an official page. Is that the best place to watch for glimpses of our plebe? I was told not to post because it would link plebe to possible harassment before DS gets there. But-i've been reading the posts and discussions and it looked like pretty sound advice coming from grads and mids. what to believe? the pics are great and the videos are too. i've been able to see a lot of things not posted elsewhere.

Plebe Photos Galore!!!

You will be amazed the day after you leave the yard. We live on the west coast and were so pleasantly surprised by all the parents who visit or live close by and take pictures - thousands of pictures. You'll find yourself on various 'dropshot' sites daily searching for your Waldo. Most of these you'll hear about through the Parent Plebe Digest. A parent will go to watch a parade or the track meet, and take 300 pictures and post and email and the link to the photos for everyone. We also signed up for access to Thornton Studios and went through pictures daily - again, thousands. We ended the summer with over 200 pictures taken by strangers we've never met. They were a Godsend to us and we actually had a great time competing as to who could find Waldo first.

Blackhawkmom, I'm not sure if this is the same thing Runmom is talking about, but you'll get tons of photo links to plebe summer if you sign up for the USNA parents' ListServ. I wish I could recall how I was invited to join -- I think I just provided a home email address to USNA @ some point. Or maybe it was from joining our local parents' club? As Runmom says, there are many very generous Annapolis-area parents who post countless pictures on the ListServ-- some taken @ 'o-dark-thirty' by people who don't even have plebes. What they do is kind of amazing.

You'll also be 'invited' to purchase pictures and/or DVDs of plebe summer by a commercial provider, and believe me, they will find you. They're horribly overpriced, but took the best picture of my son ever captured, in his whole life.
