I have an upcoming interview with my MOC. I have received an LOA from USNA. I am very excited and would be thrilled to attend USNA. But I am also interested in USAFA. I want to secure a nomination for USNA because that way I know I will be appointed. But I would also like a nomination for USAFA because I would like to see if I get appointed. If I get appointed to USAFA, I would probably choose USAFA over USNA.

When they ask me what is your primary choice for a nomination? (My MOC does not give principal nominations)
should i say, " USNA is my number 1 choice for a nomination, however I would also like a nomination for USAFA. I would like to have the opportunity to choose. I am visiting both in the spring and i have completed my entire USNA package and 95% of my USAFA package.?!"

When it comes down to it, I would be honored to attend either. How can I express this to the board?

You just did.

Seriously, tell them what you just said here. You have an LOA to navy, and would be thrilled to receive a nomination; thus assuring you of an appointment. Mention that you'd "ALSO" be honored if they would give you a nomination to air force. This way if you are fortunate to receive an appointment to air force, you could choose.

Realize however that if the nomination to navy results in an appointment, which it would if you are totally qualified, check to see when you have to accept or decline the appointment. (I'm not sure what the time frame is). But if you accept an appointment to navy, all other academy applications are halted and you are no longer allowed to choose. Once you accept one appointment, the rest are over. Again; not sure how much time navy gives you between receiving an appointment, and accepting/declining. Either way, best of luck to you. Hope you have the "HARDSHIP" of having to choose between 2 appointments. LOL!!! Seriously, best of luck, and congrats on the navy LOA.

Thank You ChristCorp! I hope so too! I believe I have until May 1st to accept or deny an appointment!:thumb:
