USNA STEM

For all still waiting...

Just spoke to a rep from USNA who said they are still evaluating STEM apps and they have until May 1st. So...fingers crossed :)

STEM apps closed

Now that the apps are closed, perhaps we will hear some good news. I know they have until May 1st, but thought I'd add a new post to elevate the thread.

My son (sophomore) applied first or second day, and he did not get an answer just yet. He already attended a STEM at USNA when it was in 8th grade and it was a great experience. Last year appplied again but did not get admitted

My rising 8th grader just got the acceptance email today. There is still hope!

Congratulations to those of you who got the good news already.

Did anyone receive reject email yet? Only couple of days left till May 1st....

No news here. Two days left, and my son did not get an acceptance or a rejection yet. I am guessing that who did not get an answer yet are those in some kind of waiting list as alternates

Nothing yet! My daughter applied on the April 1st. She did attend last year and loved every single minute!

My DS attended STEM after his 8th grade year. He also had a great time as well. The next year applied and was turned down. We were quite disappointed. But we had to remember it is a recruiting tool just as NASS (which my DS also attended). Now he is completing his Plebe year at USNA. Being turned down not mean anything...

Still waiting to hear as well. Daughter attended last summer as rising 8th grader and had such a great experience. Reapplied for this summer in Jan and have no news yet.

DD waitlisted for rising 11th graders STEM. Last year she was not accepted so this is a step up! Since we are close by in PA waitlist works for us. Did those that got accepted have an "accept by" date that they can share?

+1

In fact my daughter went last year but did not bother applying again for this yr as we felt the odds were against her for admittance.

Does anyone know how many are on the wait list and when will you get a final notice? Thank you, this is the second time applying.

I don't know how many are on the waitlist.

If selected from the waitlist, you may have only a few days notice before the session begins because the Admissions Office uses a "rolling process"--as initial selectees withdraw for various reasons, the Admissions Office offers the open slot to someone on the waitlist. Make sure the candidate is ready to go and you're ready to pay the tuition electronically if the Admissions Office contacts you about a last-minute opening. You MUST pay the tuition before session start or the open slot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

I hope this helps.
