usna summer seminar

DS accepted

DS accepted via USPS letter dated Feb. 18 for Session 3. Applied Feb. 1. We live just outside of Chicago.

Anybody have any guess on when the next batch of acceptances might come out. Seems to have been very limited so far. Can those with some experience provide some insight. Thanks

My BGO told me I was accepted within 3 days of applying so contact your officer. They may have information for you.

I sent my accept/decline form with all the other paperwork today :D

Session 1:rolleyes:

My son received his acceptance letter yesterday. We are in NC. Session 3

If your still looking for a shot at Session 2 I just declined my slot due to possible Boys State conflict and the fact I am attending the AFSS also. I don't want to miss out on like 3 weeks of school, because we don't get out near the end of June. I kinda also want to go on the band trip, Oshkosh, and my CAP national activities.

was out of the country til the second. came back and found letter postmarked on the 18th for session 2. wondering if they offer financial aid. transportation itself is going to be a fortune from los angeles

3/1/11

Our DS found out early. His app to Air Force has been sitting in limbo since December 2, 2010. I have no idea why Navy would jump all over it and AF would ignore it? So with scheduling conflicts I'm urging him to just go to Navy, Boys State in lieu of AFA SS (if accepted) and Coast Guard (if accepted) in July.

After all these years you'd think the academies would spread out their summer sessions so they don't conflict. After all they urge them to apply to all the academies and if they get multiple summer sessions they have to give up some. Maybe that's the idea, I don't know. I'd rather they use one clearing house and then give the kids a chance to choose 1 and have that officially count towards their actual application.

Keep in mind that the summer training for new cadets/plebes begins at the end of June/beginning of July. They end the academic year around the end of May. That only gives them roughly 4 weeks of available time. With multiple sessions it is impossible for all the academies to spread out their summer seminars.

I heard there are no more acceptances left for NASS, is that true?

I received my acceptance letter to Session 3 on March 12. I'll be coming from Montana's District At-Large.
