So I am 99.99% certain that I have vasovagal syncope, which is fainting because of a certain trigger, which for me is human anatomy. For example, I have passed out from a video of a real beating human heart, and from an in-depth presentation on abortions, but never from gory images. I've never had any issues after passing out; it's just I'm out for a couple seconds. I've heard that passing out can be a DQ but I've also heard that vasovagal syncope with an identified trigger isn't, so I'm wondering whether or not it is.

DoDMERB will ask about your medical history. If they ask it'd you've ever fainted you say 'yes'. If the ask if you've been diagnosed with a fainting disorder you say 'no' (if you haven't). Read the questions carefully and answer truthfully. Keep your focus on putting forth the best application you can and don't sweat what you can't control.

BTW, if you are concerned about your health, you should see a medical professional about the issue and you won't bee guessing about 'if' you have disqualifying condition. If you're asking if the condition is ssh automatic DQ, go to the DoDMERB website and search it out. You could also contact the commission source directly and ask if it is waiverable. Best wishes.

I would think that fainting in the presence of human anatomy would not bode well in combat operations. You have to look past the Academy and to the profession.

Same thing I was thinking Billy. Not the guy I want to next me if I am hurt and need first aide. Recommend you see a doctors and get an official diagnosis before jumping to conclusions.
