I just wanted to know if I am allowed to bring my Bible with me on I-Day and keep it throughout BCT. Thanks

I believe the answer is yes. My DD is bringing hers as well.

For anyone whose DD/DS doesn't have a Bible but wants one, we have also been handing out pocket New Testaments at the chapel after services. :) I am an usher and have given away quite a few already.

Just curious - are Hebrew bibles (aka Old Testaments) available as well? I imagine Jews are quite the minority at the academy, but I would hope that items appropriate for them are available.

I honestly do not know. I work in the Protestant portion of the chapel (the main sanctuary), and am not at all knowledgeable about the other religious services that take place in other sections of the chapel. I imagine the other services would likely provide corresponding materials to cadets if they so desired, but again, I really don't know. If you have a DD/DS who attends Jewish services there and needs a Hebrew bible, I am quite confident he/she could speak with a chaplain and obtain one. My apologies for not being able to provide a better answer.

I am also confident that the USAFA chaplains will provide an appropriate bible or religious materials needed. I know at USNA every accommodation possible is made, I am 100% positive it is at the other SAs as well.

DD took her Bible, too. It was the heaviest item in her small backpack

Update: I asked my roommate for next semester about this (he attended Jewish services during BCT last year and will be an usher for those services this summer). He indicated that only a very small number of cadets attend, which would make mass printing Hebrew bibles somewhat useless. However, especially since there are so few, I'm sure the chaplains would have no problems finding them whatever religious materials they needed.

One more thing: I should have been more specific when I said that we give NT's out at "the chapel". We are only authorized to give out these Bibles in the Protestant section of the chapel, not those of other religions. I can confidently say based on what I've seen that USAFA chaplains are extremely respectful and attentive to the needs of practitioners of all faiths.
