Vice President Nomination 250 essay word count

Hello,

I was wondering if the limit is 250 words or if you can go all the way up to 500 words. I was hoping to use the same essay I wrote for my USAFA application, which has around 450 words.
 
Follow the instructions and pay attention to detail. Quickest way to sink your application is to disregard the directions. Do so at your own risk.

I think it would let you submit 450 words, but I would highly advise against it for several reasons. 1) If they give a range of about 250 they've given it for a reason so it should be stuck to. 2) Since USAFA gives out the VP nomination, they may see your 2 essays are the same and could potentially be seen as "lazy" copy-pasting. 3) USAFA wants candidates who can follow instructions, and so defying them may be a risk. If you really liked your idea, I would suggest condensing your og essay to meet the 250 range. Good luck!

I just reviewed the form. It said 250 words. That’s that.

Edit or refresh any essays you have submitted. The SA Admissions staff handles all the review and evaluation of these.
