Video chat?

Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone had been able to chat via video with their DS or DD. I have heard that they are not allowed to use Skype or Google chat because they can't download to their computers. Does anyone know of another option?

Video Chat is not allowed. They can use skype text chat, or AIM, but I believe the easiest is facebook chat.

Our DS was able to Skype with us about a week ago. This is against the 'rules', but then, what good thing isn't? They have to be willing to face the concequences if they are caught. Our DS initiated the contact and it was great to see his bald head and actually converse for a couple of minutes! I think he just needed to connect with home that one time. It has not happened since, probably 'cause classes have started in earnest now and he knows that we will not be pleased if he is giving up his studies or sleep time (after 10pm on weekdays) to check Facebook or to Skype with us.
