Hello! I would like to apply for USMA and USAFA but I am extremely worried about my vision. One eye is correctable to 20/20 while the other is corrected to 20/45. I would like to go to bed school and be a psychiatrist, which I would thrill wouldn’t need perfect vision. Does anybody know what my chances are for a waiver?

You shouldn’t post anything that shows your name in any forum.

Your astigmatism is pretty bad that it doesn’t allow you to be corrected to 20/20.

I’d still apply because if you don’t apply your answer will be a guaranteed “no.” For expectation management, I wouldn’t count on a waiver though. A waiver may be possible with bad astigmatism like yours but if you’re correctable to 20/20. Since you’ve got at least 2 vision issues - bad astigmastism and not correctable to 20/20- the risk may be too much for the services to assume.
