Yep, that's about right. And, I am getting a bit tired of some delicate flowers out there, looking for rainbows and unicorns.

Fencersmother turns even more gruff in her old age.

If I had a dime for every time I told the kid to call your mother, or go spend some quality time with your mother, I'd be a rich man.

Spent some time with my mother while on leave. Makes me feel like I didn't spend enough time with her.

Son, now C130J Super Herc pilot, on phone yesterday, holding his 5 month old daughter:

"Mom! I had no idea you were smart."

I'd have whacked him upside his head but those 1500 intervening miles are a problem.

I'm so thankful I got to go back and visit my mother in early October. She passed away on Saturday, and I would have less peace about it if I had not been blessed with that last sad, but sweet, visit. Visit your mother...and make sure she knows you love and appreciate her.
