    Hi all:

We are headed to the USAFA for the appointee tour on April 8th. The paperwork states you must show a DL, proof of insurance and registration for your vehicle. I am renting a car and using my own car insurance from home. Should I just bring a copy of that card? Or should I have gotten rental insurance with the car? What about registration since its a rental?

    Thanks

The rental contract serves as the vehicle registration.

Security at the gate has only asked us for our driver's licenses in the many times we have been there, nothing else. I would just bring anything asked just in case.

We visited USAFA in October with a rental car. They looked at my DL and the car's rental agreement (which was in my name). We didn't take the rental car insurance either. I think as long as you have a photo ID and proper documentation for the rental car and you should be fine.

:) I can tell when I have been forumming too long, when I read "DL" and racked my brains thinking "dear WHAT?" Then, context kicked in... "Ah. Driver's license."

It wouldn't hurt to have a copy of your personal insurance.

You'll need insurance to get the rental. Just bring your drivers license and the rental agreement.

I always check the trunk prior to going thru the North Gate-just don't want to be "surprised" & try to explain to the Military Police what the previous renter left.o_O
