Finally made it to Annapolis! Arrived mid-afternoon (she had field hockey practice this am)
What a beautiful day in Annapolis. It was sunny and in the 80's, the brigade returns this weekend so there were midshipmen everywhere!

We had been in Annapolis before, but never on the Yard. So we walked out to the yard and the visitors center. Looked at the displays, it was ok if you didn't know anything about the academy- so we sort of cruised through. I liked the Alan Shepard display - he is from my home state of New Hampshire.

We took the walking tour and went into the athletic building and Bancroft Hall. The chapel was closed because there were several weddings going on. We went into Dahlgren Hall and got some pizza, that was really cool too.

She really enjoyed seeing all of the midshipmen walking around town and the yard. It was good to get a feel for the place. It is much smaller than West Point and does not have the remarkable views of being above the Hudson River. However, I am sure that WP, while beautiful in the summer is pretty bleak in the winter. Of course Annapolis is everythng that Highland Falls isn't!!

She now is rethinking who she is going to cheer for during the Army-Navy game!
