What are the requirements for an overnight visit, does one have to have LOA or LOE? Also, what would be the benefits of doing a day visit while they're reviewing applications, would you be able to meet your RC and talk with him, etc...?

I did a day visit and got a tour last year just to see if I liked the place, would it be advantageous to go again?

It's my understanding that you can only do an overnight visit at the invitation of USMA, and those are usually only people with LOE's or LOA's or who have already received an appointment. Although DS did not do it at his overnight, others in this forum have said that they were able to sit down and talk to someone from Admissions.

Do you think that interview influenced their application at all?

Definitely! I was able to go from being 3 Q'ed to receiving a LOE about 2 weeks ago, and attending an overnight later this week. The interviews can definitely be a game changer. I think what matters the most however, is making a solid impression upon your admissions officer that you are unique and someone they can be confident in when presenting your file to the board. I hope this answers your question.

RC Face Time

Unless your terrible in a face to face meeting, it is always good to see the person who can influence decisions. The RC now knows my DD and can put a face with a packet. Day trip people can see their RC (or someone else if RC is not available).

It would give you an advantage to go again and meet up with your RC. They are very willing to meet the candidates of their region to talk about their profile. It helped with me! That day I got 3Qed and I am now just waiting for an appointment! What's the worst that could happen?

Great! I think i'll schedule a visit then.

websurfer234 and Stevewar2,

What kind of visit did you do?
