VMI Acceptance

Congratulations USNA21Hopeful. My #3 is applying to VMI and USNA21 too. How long were you from VMI submission to receipt of the BFE?

Well done, I had a roommate in TBS who was a VMI graduate. Went on to select Infantry, lost track of him after that.

Never understood the whole 2 class ring concept (1 really nice ring, 1 "combat" ring). I only wore my USNA class ring in Dress Blues; otherwise it sat in my dresser drawer. I never even liked wearing my wedding ring in the field (I wore it on my dog tag chain, silenced of course).

In any event, good luck at a great school!

S/F,

Thank you very much!

Congratulations! My DS's portal says his was complete on October 4th - hoping that envelope is in our mailbox soon! Question - did your portal change with any additional information? I'm wondering if they change anything there while the appointment is in the mail. Does that make sense?

Thank you! My portal hasn't been updated with any information such as deposit, etc. It has stayed the same since my application was completed in early Oct.

OK F-Troop Mama and Teragram...we will be watching the mail boxes together. <3
#3's guidance counselor noted that it could have been his full disclosure of the other schools to which he is applying.
Of course, it could be March or April before the boys hear anything.

Congratulations Dancing Falcon and Teragram.
#3 is still waiting. It could be until April. (Although I was hoping with Eagle Scout and a 1250 SAT it wouldn't be this long...maybe he didn't write enough in the optional essay? Who knows.)
Congratulations again!

Thank you! Is he sure his application is not missing anything? DD thought hers was done in early September and they were waiting on verification of something from her guidance counselor the whole time.

Thanks Tergram. #3 called to check that everything was submitted. His GPA is only a 3.4 for the first six semesters (rocky first year with the move back to the US after his father/my husband died); however, his guidance counselor was going to forward his first quarter senior year transcript--he is having an awesome year. The guidance counselor thinks the hold up might be because he is applying to the service academies...but I don't know. So, we will wait. Thank you for the suggestion.

Has he had the opportunity to interview with VMI? If not, maybe something could be arranged so he can discuss his extenuating circumstances (sorry for your loss), if he didn't have a chance to include in his personal statement? Hang in there and keep us updated.
