I had my interview with VMI today. The major I spoke with said that if my grades are great at midterm (I'm at another college now) that they'll give me a conditional appointment which means I'm accepted as long as my grades are still around A's. Do you guys think this is true or just like a sugar coating to not getting accepted?

Not to poke my nose where it doesn't belong..but might make sense to know more about your GPA, background, SAT's (I know you're a college transfer), etc...

High school gpa 3.69 college 3.00. They want to at 3.2. Played soccer through high school. Emily couric leadership award (female scholarship for leaders within high school) that's the top basic stuff. I was in student county council which is like the student gov. I hve a LOR from a lt gen.

Sounds like you would have been "good to go" out of HS but is it fair to say you did not have interest in VMI at that time (without knowing your SAT scores)? I know less of VMI so I can't say for sure..but seems to me if you bump it up a bit more to the mid 3's, you'd be in decent shape. Anyone else with more knowledge of VMI?

SATS were not good. The major I spoke with did not seem to have any issues with that. Just kept saying to maintain all As this semester and update her at midterm of where I was.

People at VMI do NOT sugar coat. If they tell you they will do a-b-c if you do xyz

THEN that is what they will do.

People at VMI pride themselves on integrity and honor.

Either you are fishing for support from those on this forum OR you did not take in what VMI is about when there.

at VMI - Honor is a way of life.
