VMI - Rat mass of 2013+3

I just booked my flight for STP-arriving Sunday, Roanoke @ noon. If anyone is arriving around the same time, we can arrange to share a shuttle/taxi.

Hello

I'd like to give a big hello to everybody here, especially the future BRs. I am really excited about going to this school, and I feel really privileged. I know the ratline will be hard, but when I visited the institute in the December open house I really enjoyed it, there was lots of pride, tradition and of course, honesty.

I'd be also glad to add any future BR on FB.
My name is - Justin Iuliano from Italy. :thumb:

STP bill

Does anyone know when the STP bill will be mailed out? Thanks in advance.

Did you get an email that VMI sent regarding STP? This what the one to my DS said:

Tuition and Fees
The cost of the program can be viewed electronically on the VMI web page using Post View beginning May 30th. Once in Post View, select “Account Summary” to see your bill. Final decisions concerning financial aid will be made within the next two weeks. If you are granted financial aid it will be reflected on the electronic bill. Your bill should be paid as soon as possible, but no later than July 2nd. To avoid the confusion of having the "check in the mail" on registration day, do not mail your check after June 25th . Instead, bring the check with you on registration day. Checks should be made payable to the VMI Treasurer. Credit cards (Mastercard, American Express, and Discover) are accepted and payments can be made by calling the Student Accounting Office at 540-464-7217. There will be a 2.25% convenience fee added for use of debit/credit cards. Bills may also be paid online at http://postview.vmi.edu/ through the Post View for Cadets “Make a Payment” screen with Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Payment may also be made by electronic check at no cost. Post View is available from 0600 hours to 2400 hours, 7 days a week. Directions for payment are on the “Make a Payment Screen”.

I don't know if they will be sending a paper bill or not. Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure that everything is transacted on post view and you won't see a paper bill.

Searching for Rat

To the Class of 2013+3,
I am looking for a VMI male rat to be my rat as part of the VMI Rat-dyke system at VMI. Im trying to get ahead of the game and because you all are ninjas on fb hiding out I thought this would be a good way to connect with a possible rat.(Just for those that dont know each first adopts a rat for a year to mentor, were your best friend at vmi basically) I am an IS major with a german minor, am from California, and will be commissioning in the Army in a year. If you are interested in being my rat please send me a message or email and please feel free to ask anything you want of me to get to know me better. Thanks.

To Any would be Rats- My advice to you is DO NOT DO THIS. I don't know ARMY 2013 and you don't either. In 37 years of dealing with VMI I've never heard of a first classman trolling for a dyke by asking them to contact him. I have however heard of plenty of Rats who got a lot of unwanted attention because they had highlighted themselves on Facebook or on this site.

ARMY2013- please PM me- I would like to find out just how legitimate this request is. In the meantime, feel free to post for the entire audience if you have any thoughts on how best to prepare for matriculation and what follows.

Bruno and Rats,
The reason for my "trolling" is because I may not be at VMI when dykes are picking rats because I will be with the army that week, thats why. Dont worry, I have contacted the moderator to get the OK for you all to contact me if you wish. Thanks.

"Trolling"

Bruno IS the moderator. And I hate to disappoint you - but there are probably fewer Rats on this forum than you suspect. What a bizarre way to pick up a Rat.

I guess I can understand this- I will tell you that it's a little different. My son 's roomate had a similar issue and just had the room pick up a dyke for him. I have some suspicions about anonymous requestd like this on the web

BRs,

I'll be in the Rat Mass of 2013+3 with you. I'm from New Haven, CT, though I've lived in Houston for the past year. I'll be returning to New England on 08/01, so if any BRs want to get together then, lets make it happen. How are we doing on conditioning? How many pullups can everybody do? I'm psyched to get started with this new life, I know you guys are too.

Aidan

Bro...2014 here...I'll be happy to pick out a random rat or something for you. PM me. Or just ask someone, jesus.

STp

Has anyone heard how the pre-strains are doing at STP??

Has anyone heard how the pre-strains are doing at STP??

Well, to quote my DS, "If I had to choose 1000 times whether or not to do STP, I'd always choose to do it." He has loved his experience there, especially the tough PT they do (he is in the hardest group). He likes that he has been pushed harder than he thought he could go and is getting into even better shape. He absolutely loves his prof, and is doing pretty well in the class. Unfortunately he picked up some sort of intestinal bug and that has set him back a bit. I guess the only negative he had was that there is nothing to do on the weekends, so he has been coming home. But he knows that in a few weeks he could only wish he had that kind of down time!
