Hello everyone, I am posting in hope of finding out a little bit about my chances. I am currently a freshman at a local college and just finished my first semester. I finished with a 3.4 GPA. I applied to VMI as a Senior in High school and was wait listed, I had a very close relationship with my admission officer and the only reason why I was not accepted was due to a low high school GPA.

I applied to VMI for Early Decision because my number 1 goal is to attend VMI.

I am just wondering what my chances are of being accepted. I have heard from multiple people that applicants who were not accepted but then apply for transfer the following year are usually accepted.

I would love any advice or information.
Thank You,
Connor

If you keep up a 3.4 or better you could probably get into Tech. You should have no problem getting accepted to VMI.

You shouldn't have any problems getting in if you keep that up. Why not ask the admissions officer?

Ok .I emailed Lt. Col. Whitmore, but he has not yet responded. I am not too worried though because I am sure that he has tons of emails from the break.

How long does it usually take to hear back if I applied for early decision befor November 15th, and I sent my transcript just before Christmas?

jcm- if you applied ED - you should have already heard. I think that your best bet is contacting LTC Whitmore to make sure that he has all of your application and transfer paperwork.

I emailed him, but have yet received a response. I sent the email in the middle of last week.

I just called the admissions office and my application status is listed as Complete, meaning that it is waiting to be revised. How long should until I should expect a answer?

If anyone has been following this and is in the same boat as I am. I have contacted Lt. Col. Whitmore, and he informed me that early action transfer applicants will be notified in early February.
