Hmmm. Probably sounds a bit weird but here goes.... I am not a parent. I am not a former cadet. I have no affiliation with the USAFA. About 16 years ago, I met a young man 1 week before he left for BCT. Soon after and for about 5-6 years, every year I found a young person and sort of "sponsored" them during BCT and a bit after. I remain in contact with 2 to this day. I think it is GREAT that these young people have such passion for this experience and KNOW already at such a young age what they want and GO FOR IT! YEA! If anyone of you who are about the embark on this great adventure don't think you will get enough letters (for some reason) or know of a Basic who will need a letter writer (so that they can get some mail), I humbly apply to write and send words of encouragement and positive quotes. I promise NOT to incite extra training from the cadre (unless of course you are up for that and I DO encourage a bit of that if only to have a memorable experience). Take care and let me know through a private message on this board. Good luck.
