Im just wondering how many hours volunteering should you have while in high school? And I know that I should shoot for as many as possible and leadership..... What do you classify as volunteer work? Because ive done tons of hours of volunteer work for my church but I never really considered them to be volunteer until i started trying to figure them all up.

There is no magic number. Volunteer work is important. The Academy wants to see you are active in helping and improving your community. Truthfully, in high school I never thought to keep track of my volunteer hours. It's more important that you did do it and that you know what you did it for and whether it was with/for an organization or if you were just being a good samaritan.

Personally, I see it as this:
If you have a job, less volunteering...No job, more volunteering.
They're looking for you to of been using your personal time wisely and productively. Its simply a way to gauge your time management and dedication to your surroundings.
