Wait For It...Wait For It! eesh

I received a call last night and was told my son was being disciplined for a major violation... My heart fell to my stomach, and then I took a breath and calmly began asking what were the next steps for him... Then a crowd of cadets busted out loud laughing! April Fools! They all yelled out aloud. OMG -I totally fell for it!

-------------------------------------------------------------

I'll do ya one better. Son said he was going to take his big AIM envelope and stuff with papers to resemble an appointment and stick it in the mailbox for me to find. He deliberated this with his brother, and they both decided they just didn't have the heart to do it, but can you believe the deviousness :shake:. I told them good thing they didn't go through with it, or he would automatically become medically disqualified (if you know what I mean) -officer

TWE came today. Though disappointed as USCGA would have been my first choice, I guess my path is directed by one higher than me. The blow is a little easier to take as I was advised on Friday last week by the PMS of my first and second choice school, Campbell University and Methodist University here in NC, that I was awarded a 4 year Army ROTC scholarship. They are both private schools, $35,000 yr, and they both give room and board complimentary to ROTC cadets...so in essence, a full ride. I had been recruited to play baseball at Methodist, so it has all worked out. It actually is nice to be able to breathe and not be in such limbo about my future. Both schools are within 20 miles of my home, so I can live on campus but still come home regularly (to do my laundry of course!). Best wishes to all who are still waiting.:thumb:

cgadreamer has a wonderful outlook! May you succeed in whatever life brings you! Congrats on the scholarship and make it worth your while!!:thumb:

As for us...still waiting in "limbo..." and letting fate take all 3 of us for the ride!

When I first saw your post, I was crushed. But WOWY, you have such a bright future ahead of yourself with going to Methodist or Campbell. You should be very, very proud of yourself. Thank you for your future service as an officer in the Army. Keep us safe and Godspeed. -officer

cgadreamer,

What a great outlook you have and what a great future you have ahead of you!!!
Best of luck...I believe you will be very sucessful!!

Well, the TWE came today. Kinda disappointing but hey I'll be OK. Thanks to all who provided advice on these boards and to all those working hard in the admissions office. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. I wish you all the best!

Today's the Day

Well, the dreaded TWE was in our mailbox today as well. I think it will be a relief for my son to know and now he can concentrate on Plan B. CGADreamer, my son is also planning on going to Methodist. He was recruited last year to play baseball but chose Catawba instead. He has talked to the football coach and will probably play football this year and he is checking out ROTC as well. I'm sure you guys will cross paths!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

OK...so my prediction came true.....son did call, and tried the same trick that your son did Bear.

I toyed with the idea of playing along, but busted out laughing before he could finish his sob story. :shake:

It was good, though, to hear his voice. Even if he was intent on playing a trick on poor old mom.

Kevster and my3sons,

I'm so sorry--Best wishes for your futures. -officer

NO WAY! Other son and I just went for a walk with the dogs, and I was literally telling him 3 minutes ago about Bear and you and how you would be ready for the trick if he called--the little stinkers. If this ever happens to me, I'm going to fake a heart attack and croak over the phone (nah, just kidding)-officer

Sooo predictable!

Just telling my husband about the "posts" for the day and he asked "Where do they live?" He's trying to figure out the mailing routes! Ha!Ha! "Mr. I'm not thinking about it..." finally showed his true colors!

We've gone from stressed...to redirection....to laughter...to stressed...and now I think the family is back to laughter! Good grief!:yllol:

Best wishes at KP! Wish my son would have applied there to be honest, but he has his own life to live. Great things await you...Sea Year, top notch academics, miltary career choices in ANY branch of service, and friendships for life. You can go as far as you desire with a KP education...Ask Mark Kelly, KP 86, a NASA astronaut who has commanded several missions aboard the Space Shuttle. He followed his dream to the stars. Remember him as a plebe. ACTA NON VERBA.

Nothing here either....did the Happy dance in the post office...C'mon BWE!!

Sorry to hear that. You and Big J must have had a chance to talk, as he told me about you getting the TWE as he was washing the car getting ready for prom yesterday. It would have been SWEET to have two going to New London from the same 1A high school!
So, now the question is, a camel or a monarch? Best wishes with that, the rest of the school year and with baseball. Oh, by the way, Go Raiders! Beat W-RH! Hope to get to that game if work allows.

Nothing in yesterday's mail, and I'm in Connecticut, so I'm guessing I'm part of the April 9th mailing.

Nothing in Wisconsin Today! We are out of town and my DD made her friend run out and check the mail. At least she can relax until Monday. Have a great weekend.
