I am new to this whole thing but am hoping I might get some answers. My son was awarded an AFOTC scholarship for college. Unfortunately during the whole procees he developed back pain discovered he had a bulging disc in his lower back..He ie a 3 season athlete and after taking 3 weeks off...returned to the lacrosse field and is the teams leading scorer. BUT....the red flag went up at DODMEB and they requested remedials....and now he has been submitted for waiver review. We were told to wait and see....well I am not good at waiting and I feel like I should be doing something to support or help the waiver authorities in their decision. Part of me wants to video a lacrosse game to show them he is running, bending, hitting and scoring without problems.....does anyone think this is a good idea? And who would I send it to anyway? They already have the Dr's eval who gave my son the green light to play. It has been 2 weeks since he got the DQ ....am I being too optimistic thinking we should be hearing soon?

i am not completely sure how long the process takes, but i am farily certain there's nothing you can do about it now. sending videos and such would not prove anything for them, and would be a waste of your time. unfortunately waiting and being helpless is just a part of it. welcome to the world of the military

Look elsewhere on this site for e-mail address for Larry Mullen (click on DoDMERB). Mr. Mullen works for DoDMERB. You can send confidential information, medical records, questions, etc. to Mr. Mullen and he will help you negotiate the process.
